Our Saemidori Single Cultivar Matcha is the first release in Anya Matcha’s Memories of a Season series — celebrating rare & single cultivars harvested only once a year. This limited seasonal batch comes from Yame, Fukuoka, a region known for its cool climate, high elevation, and fertile volcanic soil, which help the tea leaves grow slowly and develop a naturally sweet, mellow flavour.

Saemidori, meaning “clear green,” lives up to its name with a vibrant, vivid colour and exceptional clarity of flavour. In the cup, you’ll find an extra-creamy texture with a gentle, rounded umami, no trace of astringency, and a clean finish. The aroma blooms instantly when whisked — floral, slightly nutty, and fresh. Its natural sweetness makes it just as enjoyable for traditional preparation as it is for a soft, creamy matcha latte.

As a single cultivar ceremonial grade matcha, Saemidori offers a pure expression of its variety without blending — giving you a chance to experience its unique character exactly as it was grown. Once this year’s harvest is gone, it won’t be available again until the next season.
