Anya Matcha - Organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha 30g
Tasting Note: Mellow, Gentle Umami with Hint of Creamy Cocoa
Anya Matcha’s Organic Line of Ceremonial Grade Matcha has arrived! Sourced from the pristine tea fields of Kyushu Island, Japan, this matcha is JAS OCO Certified Organic and completely free of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. Handpicked during the first spring harvest, it offers a mellow, clean flavour with a gentle, comforting finish.
This organic matcha presents a soft, balanced umami with a hint of creamy cocoa. Due to the use of natural compost instead of synthetic nitrogen, the tea plants grow at a slower, more natural pace—resulting in a lighter, paler green appearance and a milder umami compared to our Uji or Yame blends. Because organic matcha is grown without synthetic fertilizers, it may also have a slightly more pronounced bitterness compared to conventional matcha—a natural reflection of its pure cultivation process.
This rigorous and thoughtful farming honours the environment and brings you matcha in its most natural form.
Each tin is nitrogen-flushed and packed in Japan, locking in freshness and flavour while preserving the integrity of this delicate matcha until the moment you open it.
🌱 Certified Organic: Grown without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, certified under Japan’s JAS OCO Organic Standard.
🍃 Naturally Cultivated: Lower nitrogen content from compost-based farming results in a lighter colour, gentle umami, and a slightly more pronounced natural bitterness.
🥄 First Spring Harvest: Made from the first harvest for maximum purity and clarity of flavour.
