I’ve tried a lot of matcha and this has to be the best powder I’ve tried. The taste is sweet, nutty and not bitter at all.
Upon opening the tin, I was met with a refined share of green - vibrant yet naturally balanced, exuding an inviting brilliance. The aroma was instantly captivating, carrying a sweet, nutty fragrance that hinted at the depth of flavour to come.
The finely milled powder whisked effortlessly, yielding a really smooth sip. As an usucha, Anya Matcha's Yame matcha presented a mid-bodied experience with minimal bitterness, allowing it's inherent sweetness to shine. The texture when whisked further with the chasen, was rich, creamy and foamy.
When prepared as a latte, the Yame matcha retained its integrity. Unlike blends that may lose their hold when paired with milk, Anya Matcha's Yame stood firm, offering a harmonious fusion of creaminess and nutty depth.
For those seeking a matcha that is smooth, nuanced and effortlessly enjoyable, this matcha delivers this.
I would also mention due to it's minimal bitterness and absence of pronounced vegetal tastes, it can provide a comfortable experience to matcha beginners!

I was a little skeptical when I first read that it was creamy and nutty - they proved me wrong it's so delicious and yes there are times when I can smell a hint of popcorn. The most beautiful green too!

nice and strong, very umami and almost seaweed-y flavour, very nice and green and grassy (tastes better a little sweetened). overall not too bad, just a little difficult to dissolve :)

I’ve always loved matcha but have never really thought about the different notes that are in them. I do know a good matcha when I drink it - this one tasted subtle and smooth. I liked that it didn’t have a bitter aftertaste to it. I loooved the green and it definitely had a sweet and nutty smell to it. Paired really well with the black sesame syrup (current obsession) i made at home!
Febby was so lovely and personable too - i loved that we could connect over matcha and home made syrups!
